11 MANUAL USE
This chapter describes how to use REC+ VAS 581 011 with AC service machines that cannot
manage the process automatically.
Minimum amount of refrigerant requested: 5 kg!
Proceed as follows:
1. Turn on the charging station and make sure the REC+ VAS 581 011 is not connected
to the vehicle / external tank.
2. Connect the charging station's HP service coupler to the P1 coupler on REC+ VAS 581
011.
3. Make sure the pressure in the HP service hose does not exceed 2 bar.
4. Set a 5 minute vacuum phase on the charging station and start it.
5. Disconnect the charging station's HP service coupler from the P1 coupler on REC+ VAS
581 011 and connect it to the P2 coupler on REC+ VAS 581 011.
6. Set a 5 minute vacuum phase on the charging station and start it.
7. Set an amount of 1,500 grams of refrigerant recharge on the charging station.
Charge the refrigerant into the vehicle's A/C system using only the HP fitting on the A/
C system itself.
8. Connect the REC+ VAS 581 011 HP service coupler to the HP fitting on the A/C system
of the containing the contaminated refrigerant.
9. Set the "recovery/recycling" function on the charging station and let it run until the
amount of 1,500 grams previously charged is completely recovered or for at least 30
minutes.
10. Once the "recovery/recycling" phase is complete, disconnect the REC+ VAS 581011
HP service coupler from the vehicle.
11. Disconnect the charging station's HP service coupler from the P2 coupler on REC+ VAS
581 011 and connect it to the P3 coupler on REC+ VAS 581 011.
12. Set the "recovery/recycling" phase on the charging station (during the residual amount
of the 1,500 grams of refrigerant will be recovered).
13. Now the charging machine can be turned off and the contaminated refrigerant can be
discharged as described in the chapter USE - PHASE 4: Discharge of the
Contaminated Refrigerant in the External Tank.
