2.6 FEED WATER FEATURES
Feed water features shall be as follows:
• it shall be drinkable and clear water
• temperature shall range between 6° and 25 °C
• hardness shall be lower than 400ppm CaCO
2.7 IMPROPER USE OF THE REGENERETOR
This equipment has been designed in order to regenerate re-
sins in the cylinders of the "ER SERIES" softeners, which can
soften water used in technical appliances.
The equipment shall not be used for other purposes and shall
not be modified or forced open.
Any use that is not illustrated in this manual is deemed unsui-
table and consequently dangerous.
The Manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damages and/
or accidents that might be caused by non-compliance with se-
curity measures and by unsuitable, wrong and unreasonable
equipment use.
• Do not feed the equipment with liquids other than drinkable
water.
• Do not put in the salt tank products or substances other
than water and sodium chloride (NaCl (kitchen salt).
3) INSTALLATION
3.1 PACKAGE
• Make sure that components have no defect or damage
caused by transport before installing this equipment. In
case of problems, call the dealer.
• It is advisable to store for some time the package box also
making sure to keep out of reach of children small or dan-
gerous package parts.
• The salt tank includes the following:
- pipes for water supply connection
- filter pack
- gearcase pack with ERV valves
- a smaller box with a quick fitting tap and an overflow pipe
coupling.
Please make sure that no packing parts and bits remain in
the brine tank.
3.2 CHOOSING THE RIGHT INSTALLATION SPOT
• The equipment shall be installed as illustrated in fig. 1.
• Please check that no water treatment system is located
upstream of the identified installation spot.
• Please check that the water to be treated comes from a
drinkable water pipe. It is advisable to carry out an analysis
of feed water physico-chemical properties as well as its
hardness before the installation.
• Install the equipment close to a catch basin that shall be
located below the brine tank (fig. 1, V, Z).
• Install the equipment in a dry spot; its location shall be
easily accessible for maintenance and cleaning purposes.
Do not install the equipment in places where electrical safety,
industrial accident and health & hygiene regulations are cle-
arly disregarded.
• Please check that room temperature is between 4 °C and
35 °C.
• Keep this equipment away from acid or corrosive products.
• If the equipment is installed close to a boiler, make sure

that pipes and the equipment itself are not over-heated.
It is advisable to keep the equipment some meters away
(minimum 3 meters) from a heat source.
• Water pressure shall not be lower than 0.2 Mpa (2 bars) or
higher than 0.8 Mpa (8 bars). (3 to 4 bars are the sugge-
sted values).
• If water pressure exceeds 8 bars installing a pressure regu-
lator is advisable.
• If water pressure is lower than 0.2 Mpa (2 bars) there might
be operating faults.
• Salt bags or boxes shall not be stored in humid places or on
the floor. Placing them on a wooden pallet is advisable (fig.
7).
3.3 GEARCASE AND FILTER INSTALLATION
The gearcase shall be fixed by using the fixing support that
is provided (fig. 2, B). Such support shall be fixed by using the
screw anchors that come with the equipment.
Fasten the gearcase to its support (fig. 2, C) and hang it up to
the wall by using screw anchors.
The filter support shall be fixed on the wall by using two
screw anchors (fig. 6, A).
Fix the filter to its support by using the dedicated screws (fig.
6, E).
Insert the blue plastic pipe (fig. 1, O) in the quick pipe fitting in
the gearcase (fig. 3, C); insert the other end of the pipe in the
quick pipe fitting in the filter (fig. 6, D).
3.3.1 CONNECTION TO THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
Connection to the water supply system shall be carried out in
compliance with legislation in force and with the instructions
set by the manufacturer. Moreover, resorting to qualified tech-
nician is advisable.
The installer shall verify that the flexible feed water pipe (fig.
1, P) and any couplings used to connect the infeed tap (fig. 1,
G) to the water system is suitable for contact with drinkable
water, that is to say DM 174/2004 compliant.
3.3.2 QUICK PIPE COUPLINGS
Connections to filter, gearcase, "ERV" valves and brine tank
pipes are besed on quick pipe couplings.
For proper pipe connection, the installer shall push it up to the
stop. The metal parts of the quick coupling prevent the pipe to
slip out of its housing.
Press the black ring around the coupling and slip off the pipe
if you want to disconnect it (fig. 3, C).
Please check that all the pipes are not sqeezed or clogged.
3.3.3 CONNECTING THE GEARCASE
TO THE "ERV" VALVES
Follow the following steps in order to connect the three valves:
- Insert the blue plastic pipe Ø10 mm (fig. 1, L) in the quick
outlet coupling in the gearcase (fig. 3, G).
- Insert the other end of the pipe in the quick inlet coupling of
the "ERV" valve (fig. 1, B).
- Connect the outlet pipe in the first valve and the other end of
the pipe to the quick inlet coupling of the second valve.
- Insert the outlet pipe in the second valve and connect the
other end of the pipe to the quick inlet coupling of the third
valve.
- Insert the oulet pipe in the third valve and the other end of
the pipe in the catch basin (fig. 1, V).
3.3.4 CONNECTION TO THE DRAIN SYSTEM
The water used during regeneration shall flow through a Ø10
mm plastic pipe (fig. 1, N) into the closest catch basin (fig.
