Press the handle release (37) to unlock the main
handle (36) while simultaneously turning the main
handle (36) until it clicks into the required position.
Fitting
Fitting Protective Equipment
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
Note: If the grinding disc breaks during operation or the
holding fixtures on the protective guard/power tool become
damaged, the power tool must be sent to the after-sales ser-
vice immediately; see the "After-Sales Service and Applica-
tion Service" section for addresses.
Protective guard for grinding with clamping lever
Open the clamping lever (8). Place the protective guard (6)
with the coding cam (7) engaging into the coding groove on
the spindle collar until the shoulder of the protective guard is
seated against the flange of the power tool, and turn the pro-
tective guard (6) to the required position. Close the clamp-
ing lever (8).
Adjust the protective guard (6) such that sparking in
u
the direction of the operator is prevented.
The tensioning force of the clamp from the protective
guard (6) can be changed by loosening or tightening the ad-
justment screw (9). Ensure that the protective guard (6) is
fitted securely and check it regularly.
Note: The coding cams on the protective guard (6) ensure
that only a protective guard that is suitable for the power
tool can be fitted.
Protective guard for grinding with locking screw
Place the protective guard (33) on the spindle collar. Adjust
the position of the protective guard (33) to the require-
ments of the operation and lock the protective guard (33)
with the locking screw (32).
Adjust the protective guard (33) such that sparking in
u
the direction of the operator is prevented.
Protective guard for cutting
Provide sufficient dust extraction when cutting stone.
u
The protective guard for cutting (34)/(16) is fitted in the
same way as the protective guard for grinding with a locking
screw (33) or the protective guard for grinding with a clamp-
ing lever (6).
For cutting, always use the protective guard for
u
cutting (34)/(16) or the protective guard for
grinding (33)/(6) together with the cover for
cutting (27).
Cover for cutting
Fit the cover for cutting (27) on the protective guard for
grinding (6)/(33) (see figure A/D): Swivel the lever back
(➊). Attach the cover (27) to the protective guard for
grinding (6)/(33) (➋). Press the lever firmly into place again
on the protective guard (6)/(33) (➌).
To remove the cover (see figure B/E), swivel the lever back

(➊). Remove the cover (27) from the protective guard (6)/
(33) (➋).
Extraction guard for cutting with a cutting guide
Place the extraction guard for cutting with a cutting
guide (21)/(35) on the spindle collar. Adjust the position of
the extraction guard (21)/(35) to meet the requirements of
the operation. Secure the extraction guard (21)/(35) with
the locking screw. A suitable Bosch dust extractor can be
connected to the extraction guard for cutting with a cutting
guide (21)/(35). To do so, insert the vacuum hose with dust
extraction adapter into the provided receiving connection of
the extraction guard.
Hand guard
Always fit the hand guard (22) when working with the
u
rubber sanding pad (23) or with the cup brush/conical
brush/diamond annular cutter.
Attach the hand guard (22) to the auxiliary handle (4)/(31).
Standard auxiliary handle/low-vibration auxiliary handle
Screw the auxiliary handle (4)/(31) on the right or left of the
machine head depending on the working method.
Do not operate your power tool without the auxiliary
u
handle (4)/(31).
Do not continue to use the power tool if the auxiliary
u
handle (4)/(31) is damaged. Do not make any altera-
tions to the auxiliary handle (4)/(31).
The low-vibration auxiliary handle
(31) reduces vibration, enabling the
tool to be used safely and more com-
fortably.
Fitting the abrasive tools
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
Do not touch grinding and cutting discs until they have
u
cooled down. The discs can become very hot while work-
ing.
Clean the grinding spindle (19) and all the parts to be fitted.
Lock the grinding spindle with the spindle lock button (1)
before clamping and releasing the abrasive tools.
Do not press the spindle lock button while the grind-
u
ing spindle is moving. The power tool may become dam-
aged if you do this.
Grinding/cutting disc
Pay attention to the dimensions of the abrasive tools. The
diameter of the hole must match that of the mounting flange.
Do not use an adapter or reducer.
When using diamond cutting discs, ensure that the arrow in-
dicating the direction of rotation on the diamond cutting disc
matches the direction of rotation of the power tool (see the
direction of rotation arrow on the machine head).
See the graphics page for fitting instructions.

ing the supplied mounting flange (10) and the clamping
