Reverse Mechanism
The direction of rotation is determined by the position of
the selector knob in the ratchet head. Be sure the selector
knob is positioned fully in either direction before
depressing the paddle. Turning the selector knob
counterclockwise turns the nut or bolt in a clockwise
direction.
Ratchet Mechanism Lubrication
If the cordless ratchet receives daily, steady workouts,
the ratchet mechanism should be greased daily. Adjust
the lubrication schedule according to the usage. Using a
Snap-on YA4190CAP Grease Gun, or similar type
grease gun, inject grease through the flush-type fitting in
the reverse mechanism until fresh grease becomes
visible. Use a grease such as Snap-on Ratchet Grease or
an equivalent type.

Fuel Gauge
The tool is equipped with a fuel gauge to indicate the
battery's state of charge. It is located in the center of the
tool along the housing seam at the top of the handle. A
round bi-color LED changes color depending on state of
charge. The gauge is activated for three seconds at each
trigger pull. The following describes its function:
• LED IS GREEN - Battery is between 55% and 100%
charged
• LED IS YELLOW - Battery is between 25% and 55%
charged
• LED IS RED - Battery is below 25%
• LED IS FLASHING RED - Battery needs charging
immediately
Overloading
If the tool is overloaded for any reason the internal
electronics will cause it to stop working. This safety
feature will prevent under voltage, over temperature, and
over current damage to the tool or battery. Release the
trigger to resume operation.
The following conditions may cause temporary shut-
down of the tool as a safety feature to the user, as well as
to prolong the life of the tool and battery.
— Battery under voltage protection - indicated by
the LED ring flashing once on the tool, pausing
and then repeating the single flash. This means
the voltage has reached the lowest limit allowed
by the battery manufacturer and the tool will stop
operation to prolong battery life. The battery
voltage may recover after a small rest period. To
do more work, the battery will need charging.
— Battery or tool over temperature - indicated by the
LED ring flashing twice on the tool, pausing and
then repeating the double flash. When the tool is

used under heavy load continuously, the
maximum allowable temperature of the controller
or battery may be reached, and the tool will
temporarily stop working. A hot tool will cool in
about 1 minute. A hot battery may require over
15 minutes to cool. When this condition occurs,
the battery will most likely require recharging.
You may want to use another battery to finish the
job.
Note: The battery charger will show a
flashing yellow LED until the battery cools
sufficiently to begin charge. When the tool is cold
(less than 4ºF/-20ºC) it may be necessary to run it
a few seconds without load, to warm up the
battery.
— Tool current limit exceeded - tool will shut down
and the LED ring will stay on as long as the trigger
is depressed. When the tool is used in an extra-
heavy duty application, the current limit may be
reached, causing shut-down of the tool power. A
current limit will occur if the motor is stalled. Tool
operation can be resumed immediately after
releasing the trigger.
— General tool or hardware fault - indicated by the
LED ring flashing four times, pausing and then
repeating the quadruple flash.
— Motor timeout, indicated by the LED ring flashing
three times on the tool, pausing and then
repeating the triple flash. This means that the
trigger has been pressed continuously for two (2)
minutes. This protection is intended to save
battery and tool life in situations where the tool is
in a bag or a drawer and the trigger is actuated
accidentally for a prolonged period of time. Tool
operation can be resumed immediately after
releasing the trigger.
