PROBLEM
The grounds are very damp
No co ee is delivered
The co ee drips from the edges of the
porta lter rather than from the holes
The co ee is cold
No crema on the espresso
The pump is excessively noisy
The water tank leaks when carried
POSSIBLE CAUSE
You haven't added enough ground co ee Add more co ee
Ground co ee is not tamped enough
No water in the tank
Filter is dirty
Limescale in the water circuit
The porta lter has been inserted incor-
rectly or it is dirty
The holes of the porta lter spouts are
clogged
The espresso boiler gasket has lost elasti-
city or it is dirty
The READY light is not on when co ee
delivery is selected
No preheating was done
The cups were not preheated
Limescale in the water circuit
The co ee is too old
The co ee is not suitable for espresso
There is too little co ee in the lter
Ground co ee is not tamped enough
The water tank is empty
The tank is not correctly positioned
There are air bubbles in the tank con-
nector
The valve at the bottom of the tank is
dirty or defective
The valve is blocked by limescale

SOLUTION
Press the ground co ee more
Fill the tank with water
Clean the lter ("8.2 Cleaning the co ee
lters")
Descale as described in section "9. De-
scaling"
Attach the porta lter correctly and rotate
rmly as far as it will go
Clean the porta lter spout holes
Have the espresso boiler gasket replaced
by Customer Services
Wait until the READY light turns on
Pre-heat the machine as indicated in
section "5.1 Tips for a hotter co ee"
Pre-heat the cups as indicated in section
"5.1 Tips for a hotter co ee"
Descale as described in section "9. De-
scaling"
Use freshly ground co ee
Use ner ground co ee
Add ground co ee
Press the ground co ee more
Fill the tank
Press the tank down lightly to open the
valve on the bottom
Follow the instructions of section "7. Hot
water" until water is delivered
Clean the water tank
Descale your machine according to the
instructions in the user manual
