PROBLEM

The porta lter is not positioned correctly Put the porta lter in place and lock it

The lter is clogged
The co ee is too ne or damp
The wrong type of pre-ground co ee is
being used
Inadequate rinsing after descaling
Milk not cold enough
Cappuccino maker dirty
Limescale in the water circuit

SOLUTION
(turning it counterclockwise as far as it
will go)
Remove excessive co ee grounds and
clean the grid through which water pas-
ses with a damp sponge
Check that the soft capsule has been
inserted correctly: the paper must not
protrude out of the lter
Press the co ee down less rmly
Reduce the quantity of co ee
Clean the lter ("8.2 Cleaning the co ee
lters")
Use only pre-ground co ee for espresso
co ee makers and make sure it is not
damp
Use a di erent type of pre-ground co ee
After descaling rinse the appliance as in-
dicated in section "9. Descaling"
Always use 2% milk at refrigerator tem-
perature.
Clean the cappuccino maker ("6.2 Clea-
ning the cappuccino maker after use")
Descale as described in section "9. De-
scaling"
