Quick Setup
The "Quick Setup" is for those in a hurry to use the Minadax Visor. However, we recommend reading this entire document to get a full
understanding of how the visor works and alternative setup options. The original instructions start with "Step 1: Turn on the visor."
Quick Setup of the Minadax Visor
You will need your camera and a telephoto lens, the Minadax Visor, the included 3mm Allen wrench, and a tripod. Find a location
where you have a line of sight to a distant small object, such as a sign or another conspicuous object that is about 15-30 cm large. It
could be a "No Parking" sign, a part of a tree, a birdhouse, or a mailbox. It should be distant enough so the center of the camera focus
almost covers the object.
1. Slide the Minadax Visor into your camera's flash shoe until it clicks into place. Tighten the clamping screw. The visor should sit firmly
without wobbling.
2. Turn the cover labeled LR44 and insert the three batteries. The flat side with "+" must face up.
3. Turn on the Minadax Visor by pressing the button on the left side. Press further to adjust the brightness.
4. Set the crosshair of the visor to the "dot" style by moving the toggle switch all the way to the right.
5. Adjust the tripod to a height that allows you to easily look through the visor. Focus and center the target object with your lens set to
the maximum focal length. Lock the ball head of the tripod.
5. Align the center of the camera focus on the object and look over the top of the visor through the center of the visor lens to locate
the crosshair. Use the included 3mm wrench to adjust the height and side adjusters so that the crosshair's dot is precisely on the
camera focus's center.
6. Set your camera's focusing system to continuous mode and a multi-point focus system. 9-25 points usually work best, but consult
your camera manual as each camera has similar but different settings for action photography.
7. Remember to turn off the Minadax Visor when not in use or store it in your gear bag. Press the button until the crosshair is no
longer visible, indicating it is off.
8. Practice on stationary and slowly moving targets, near and far, to get used to shooting with the Minadax Visor. Keep both eyes open!
This way, you can see more, and it's easier to track moving targets.
