4.2 Setting the joint motion by adjustment of the axis friction
Left turn = easier motion
Right turn = harder motion
4.3 Setting the pendulum behavior by regulating the extension assist
Left turn = increase tension
Right turn = decrease tension
The amount of the brake effect is
adjusted by the axis friction.
First, remove the red cover at the bottom
part of the knee joint.
By increasing the axis friction, the motion
resistance between knee axis and brake
bushing is increased. Signifi cant changes
are already noticeable after slight turns
of the screw.
If the screw is turned to tight, the brake
effect already begins even without load.
An adjustment with too much slack
may lead to noises and premature wear.
Increase the axis friction by turning the
threaded pin clockwise by means of a
2 mm allen key 173P3/2. Remount the
cover exactly to fi t.
The fl exion resistance can be increased
by adjusting the tension of the extension
assist. For users with very low walking
speed, the spring tension supports the
swinging of the lower leg into fl exion.
To increase the spring tension, use the
adjustment screw. The adjustment screw
must not be turned beyond the basic
setting.
After each adjustment, the axis friction
must be adjusted as described in pt. 4.2.
