Only one of the following YATO Li-Ion 18 V batteries can be used to power the tool: YT-828461, YT-828462, YT-828463, YT-
82845, YT-828464, YT-828465, which can only be charged with YATO YT-828498, YT-828499, YT-828500, YT-828501, YT-
828502, YT-828503, YT-828504 chargers. It is forbidden to use other batteries with a diff erent rated voltage and not matching the
device battery socket. It is forbidden to modify the socket or battery to make them match.
Slide the battery into the socket with the contacts facing inside the tool until the battery latch engages. Make sure that the battery
will not slide out on its own during operation. Disconnect the battery by pressing and holding the latch and then pulling the battery

PRODUCT OPERATION
Preparing the power saw for operation
Caution! Unplug the power saw from the power supply before performing any assembly and adjustment work. Remove the battery
from the tool.
Mount the guide bar and cutting chain before fi rst use.
Unscrew the side panel fi xing knob until the side panel can be removed (II). By turning the knob in the direction indicated by the
arrow with the open padlock symbol, the panel can be removed. Turning the knob in the direction indicated by the arrow with the
closed padlock symbol allows the side panel to be fi tted.
Mount the guide bar and chain as shown in picture (III).
Make sure that the chain and guide bar are fi tted in the correct direction. The shape and direction of the links visible on the chain-
saw housing should correspond to the shape and direction of the chain. If there is a visible movement direction indication on the
chain links, it should have the same direction as the indication on the housing and guide bar. Make sure the chain hits the guide
slot and the teeth on the sprocket. The next step is to attach and tighten the side panel. In order for the side panel to be tightened,
the guide travel pin on the inside of the side panel must hit the guide travel hole. Changing the position of the spindle is possible
by turning the chain tension knob. If the pin is in the correct position, pre-fi x the side panel using the side panel fi xing knob. Do not
tighten the fi xing knob all the way. Adjust the chain tension by turning the chain tension knob and then tighten the side panel fi xing
knob as far as it will go. Check the chain tension. To do this, set the chainsaw down and lift it by holding the middle part of the chain
(IV). During this test, the chain should lift above the guide bar by 3 to 4 mm in the spot where it is held. If the chain is stretched too
tight or too weak, loosen the side panel fi xing knob slightly, readjust the degree of chain tension and tighten the side panel fi xing
knob as far as it will go. The chain tension level should also be checked every 10 minutes of operation.
Check the technical condition of the chainsaw before connecting it to the power supply. If any damage is detected, it is forbidden
to connect it to the power supply before removing the damage.
Oil topping-up (V)
Caution! Unplug the chainsaw from the power supply before performing any assembly and adjustment work. Disconnect the
mains-powered chainsaws from the socket. In the case of the battery-powered chainsaws, disconnect their battery.
