10. MAINTENANCE.
This part of the manual is important for the proper use of the welding equipment. It
does not contain specific maintenance instructions, since this machine does not require
a routine maintenance service. The precautions to be considered are the usual ones for
any electric welding equipment.
It is advisable to avoid shocks and any form of exposure of the machine to falls, excessive
heat sources or other situations.
In the case of transport and/or storage, the welding equipment must not be exposed to
temperatures outside the range: -25ºC to + 55ºC or air humidity greater than 90%.
In case of malfunction or breakdown, do not try to repair it unless you have the
appropriate technical qualifications and tools. Contact one of our technical services,
which are listed on our website www.grupocevik.es.
Maintenance or repair performed by unauthorized technical services will void and
terminate the manufacturer's warranty.
11. TROUBLESHOOTING.
Point
Description
1
The thermal protection warning
light lights up.
2
The welding current selector does
not work.
3
The engine fan does not work, or
the rotation speed is low.
4
No open circuit voltage in the
welding terminals.
5
The cable of the electrode holder,
the output terminal of the
equipment or the plug are too
hot.
6
The device does not start or shuts
down immediately after starting.
7
Possible cause
Poor ventilation in the work area that
activates the protection against
overheating
Working cycle range (operating
factor) exceeded.
Damaged potentiometer.
The power switch (9) is in the OFF
mode.
The power switch (9) does not work.
Damaged fan.
Excessive heating
The power switch (9) does not work.
The electrode holder or cable have
exceeded their capacity; an electrode
with a diameter greater than that
recommended is being used.
The cable is damaged, broken or
smashed.
The connection on the terminal is
loose.
Bad contact of the electrode in the
electrode holder.
The supply voltage to the equipment
is not sufficient.
Any other cause

Solution
Improve
ventilation
conditions
Automatic recovery after
decreasing
the
temperature
Replace the potentiometer.
Turn the switch in the ON
position.
Replace the switch.
Replace the fan.
See point 1
Replace the switch.
Replace the electrode with
another one of smaller
diameter.
Replace the cable.
Tighten it.
Remove the eventual oxide
layer from the electrode
and replace it firmly in the
electrode holder.
Find another power source
with sufficient
capacity.
Remove
the
electric
extension cords from the
power cord, if applicable.
