3) Connect the power supply unit provided to
the power supply jack (16) and to a mains
socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) .
6 Operation
Do not switch on the transmitters of the sys-
tem yet .
To switch on the receiver, press the button
POWER (4) . When the unit is switched on, the
rings around the REMOSET buttons (6) light
up . After briefly indicating the identification
number (
chapter 6 .1 .3), the display (10) of
each receiver unit shows:
– the group
. . .
(g) and the channel (h) from
the group (overview of groups and channels
table in chapter 7 .1)
– the indication MUTE (f)
The muting function will be activated when
no radio signal is received from the transmit-
ter on the transmission frequency adjusted,
when the signal received is poor or when the
transmitter is muted (possible for transmitter
IN-264TH / 5 only) .
Make the following settings for each receiver
unit separately:
1) Before switching on the transmitter, set the
receiver unit to a free and interference-free
transmission frequency
When the transmission frequency has been
set and the reception indication RF (a) shows
a radio signal (one or several segments of the
indication are displayed), select a different
frequency .
2) Switch on the transmitter, check its settings
(
instruction manual of the transmitter),
then set it to the same transmission fre-
quency via the REMOSET function according
to chapter 6 .2 .
When the transmitter and the receiver
have been set to the same frequency, the
muting function is deactivated; the indica-
tion MUTE (f) disappears . One of the indica-
tions
A
or
B
(c) is displayed to show which
of the antennas (1) receives the more pow-
erful radio signal . The indication RF (a) shows
the reception quality: the more segments
displayed, the better the reception .
If the reception is poor, please check
– if the batteries of the transmitter are dis-
charged .
The display shows a battery symbol (d)
indicating the status of the batteries in
the transmitter in four levels . If the bat-
teries are discharged (indication
display backlight will change from green
to orange .
– if the transmission power of the transmit-
ter is too low .
To increase the transmission range when
the transmitter is placed at a greater dis-
tance from the receiver, it is possible to
increase the transmission power from
10 mW to 50 mW (possible for transmitter
IN-264TH / 5 only,
the transmitter) .
– if the reception is disturbed by objects in
the transmission path .
Make sure to keep the transmitter and the
receiver at a minimum distance of 50 cm

from metal objects and any other sources
of interference, e . g . electric motors or flu-
orescent lamps .
– if the reception is improved when you
move the antennas .
– if the squelch threshold adjusted with the
corresponding SQUELCH control is too
high
3) Speak / sing into the microphone of the
transmitter or, in case of an instrument mi-
crophone, feed an audio signal to the mi-
crophone . The indication AF (b) shows the
volume level of the audio signal received .
The more segments of the indication AF
displayed, the higher the level .
ume via the indication AF
manual of the transmitter .
4) If the volume level is too high for the subse-
quent unit, it will be possible to attenuate
it by 10 dB or 20 dB . For each audio output,
an attenuation switch is provided: the corre-
sponding switches ATTENUATION RX 1 and
RX 2 (13) for the two XLR outputs (11); the
switch ATTENUATION (15) for the 6 .3 mm
output jack (14) .
5) Use the control SQUELCH (12) to adjust the
threshold for interference suppression of the

corresponding receiver unit . The further the
control turned clockwise from the left stop
"max" (= maximum sensitivity), the higher

receiver unit when high-frequency interfer-
ence signals with levels below the thresh-
old adjusted are received during music in-
tervals . With a higher threshold, however,
the transmission range will decrease as the
receiver unit will also be muted when the
signal strength of the transmitter falls below
the threshold adjusted . Therefore, adjust a
higher threshold with the control SQUELCH
when the reception is good; select a lower
value when the transmitter is placed at a
greater distance from the receiver .
6) Each receiver unit is provided with a lock
function to prevent accidental change of
settings or switching off
To switch off the unit, keep the button POWER
(4) pressed for a few seconds . If the receiver
is not in use for a longer period of time, dis-
connect the power supply unit from the mains
socket; even when the receiver is switched off,
the power supply unit will have a low power
), the
consumption .

6.1 Adjusting the receiver unit

When the receiver unit is not locked, press the
button SET (8) to activate the setting modes
one after another:

number  lock function
To make settings in a setting mode, see the
instruction manual of
corresponding chapter (6 .1 .1 to 6 .1 .4) .
To exit a setting mode without changing a
setting, press the button SET repeatedly until the
display briefly shows
ceiver unit will then return to the normal mode .

Set the transmitter to the optimum vol-
instruction

To set the transmission frequency, select the
channel group and the channel . Six channel
groups with preset channels in different num-
bers are available
table in chapter 7 .1 .
Note: To prevent interference, carefully match the
transmission frequencies of all transmission paths to
one another . In case of parallel operation of several
channels, it is recommended to use channels from
the same group .
1) Keep the button SET (8) pressed until the
letter "G" starts flashing on the display; the
group setting mode is activated .
2) Select the group (
. . .
) with the button
(7) or the button
(9) .
3) Press the button SET to confirm . The letters
"CH" start flashing on the display; the chan-
nel setting mode is activated .
4) Select the channel with the button
When the scan function has been activated
(
chapter 6 .1 .2), each time a channel is se-
lected, the unit will check if the correspond-
ing transmission frequency is presently being
used for transmission (brief insertion
= "scan channel") . If it is, this channel al-
ready used will be skipped .
Note: It will not be possible to set both receiver
units to the same channel of a group . The channel
used for one receiver unit will be locked for the
other one .
5) Press the button SET to confirm . The display
briefly shows
(= store) . The receiver
unit will return to the normal mode .

6.1.2 Scan function

The scan function makes it easier to select a
free transmission frequency: When the func-
tion has been activated, the frequencies already
being used for transmission will be skipped
when you set the transmission frequency
(
 chapter 6 .1 .1) .
1) Keep the button SET (8) pressed until the
letter "G" starts flashing on the display; the
group setting mode is activated .
2) Press the button SET repeatedly until the
display shows the current setting for the
scan function:
scan function activated
scan function deactivated
3) Press the button
(7) to select the setting
or the button
(9) to select the set-
ting
.
4) Press the button SET to confirm . The display
briefly shows
. The receiver unit will
return to the normal mode .
6.1.3 Identification number
To set the transmitter via the REMOSET func-
tion to the transmission frequency of the
receiver unit (
chapter 6 .2), both must have
the same identification number .
1) Keep the button SET (8) pressed until the
letter "G" starts flashing on the display; the
group setting mode is activated .
2) Press the button SET repeatedly until the dis-
play shows
and the current identification
number ( ...
) .
3) Select the desired number with the button
(7) or the button
(9) .
