4 Handling
4.1 Assembly
The tube adapter must be shortened according to the measurements of
the amputee.
Attention!
The tube adapter must always be installed distally.
Attention!
Do not clamp the tube into a vice ! It may re-shape or damage
the tube.
The section surface must be perpendicular to the tube longi-
tudinal axis (Fig. 2). We recommend using 719R2 Tube Cutter
or equivalent.
Carefully debur the tube cutting edge inside and outside. For
this purpose use the 718R1 Interior and Exterior Pipe Reamer or
equivalent (Fig. 3).
Loosen the cap screw (Fig. 4, item 2) of the tube clamp adapter
by two turns and insert the tube 5 mm deep into the tube clamp
adapter while slightly rotating the tube. Next, place the tube clamp
adapter with the tube inserted vertically on the worktop and fully
insert the tube adapter into the tube clamp adapter until the tube
is in contact with the base rim inside the clamp.
Attention!
For reasons of structural strength, the residual pieces of cut
tube adapters must not be used as components in definitive
prostheses.
4.2 Adjustments and Final Assembly
Attention!
Prior to final assembly (i.e. prior to inserting the tube adapter
into the tube clamp adapter), the inside of the tube clamp ad-
apter and the outside of the tube adapter must be cleaned with
634A3 (Acetone)!
