Positioning the device
CAUTION
!
Before positioning the devices, a functional test (see
chapter 3.4 on page 46) must be conducted on every
device.
The device may heat up to a temperature outside the
specifications if it is used in very hot conditions and
under direct sunlight at the same time. This may result
in device failure or a reduced service life for some
device components. Dräger recommends placing the
device in the shade under these operating conditions.
NOTICE
i
i
The gas is supplied at an angle of 360°. If required, use
base (order no. 83 20 645) for a measuring position
raised by about 30 cm.
When positioning the devices, ensure that sub-
networks are avoided.
When used under constant vibration or in an inclined
position, harmful interference to proper operation may
occur. Do not operate the X-zone 5500 while
permanently exposed to vibrations or in an inclined
position.
1. Switch on the first X-zone 5500 (see chapter 3.1 on
page 44) and position at the relevant location.
2. Switch on the second X-
zone 5500 and position at
a distance so that the
communication LED is lit
in green.
The wireless connection
is established and the
communication
LED
indicates the connection
to at least one device
within radio range.
WARNING
!
If the communication LED is lit in red, the distance from
the next device must be reduced.
Position other X-zone 5500 devices using the same
process.
NOTICE
i
i
Dräger recommends performing a connection test
(see chapter 3.4.3 on page 46) after positioning all the
devices.
