PHASE ADJUSTMENT 0(-180º (10-17). The phase adjustment switches are on the back
panel and enable the phase selection of the bass and treble loudspeakers in relation to the mid
ones, wich are taken as the reference. In addition, the bass way can be continously adjusted from
0º to 180º by means of a potentiometer (12) thus yielding to a complete 360º turn if both are
used. This special capability is specially useful at frequencies near the cut-off bass band (around
150Hz) where near frequencies can be enhanced or attenuated. It can also extend the response for
very low frequencies. The start position is with both adjustments at 0º. Select a musical piece with
plentiful bass, place yourself at a distance greater than 10m from the cabinet and make a fast test
by means of the switch. Never make the adjustment at the side or behind the cabinet! Once you
have selected the most favourable position of the switch from the point of view of "cleanliness"
and bass level, adjust the potentiometer. Repeat the process various times.
Notice that the adjustment will only be valid under for the test conditions; any change of
the structure, disposition of the elements, etc, will imply a new adjustment. Similar considerations
can be said for the treble phase switch (17). The main effect achieved is the compensation of the
non-alignment on the same plane of the mid and treble engines. The start position is with the
switch at 180º. If a disco sound or a lower voice enhancement are desired, place the switch at 0º.
BASS BOOST (13). This switch emphasizes by 3dB the bass output. The normal position
for the 90% of the situations is off (unpushed). Only if the bass cabinet is not stacked to the
EPC215D is placed far from walls (eg. hanged) is recommendable the use of this switch.

4.3. Machines connected to the processor

External equalizers must be used with care because the EPC200 already does a
pre-equalization and is possible to feed excessive energy to the system thus yielding to an overload.
The processor has been designed to give an equilibrated sound. Any external equalization should be
limited to ±6dB, more than enough to compensate possible hall and/or equipment deficiencies.
However, if a mixer with +15dB tone control is used, make special attention to possible saturation
of the system by checking the processor overload indicators (3-4-5).
