3 Application
3.1 Indication
The 9X25 Rocker Switch is to be used solely in exoprosthetic fittings of the
upper limbs for myoelectric control of arm prostheses.
3.2 Application
The 9X25 Rocker Switch is suitable for both right or left arm amputees as
well as bilateral amputees.
3.3 Conditions of Use
The 9X25 Rocker Switch is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
3.4 Qualification
The fitting of patients with the 9X25 Rocker Switch may only be carried out
by a prosthetist.
4 Safety Instructions
Failure to follow the safety instructions given below can lead to faulty control
or malfunction of the 9X25 Rocker Switch and result in a risk of injury for the
patient.
5 General/Patient-Specific Safety Instructions
5.1 General Safety Instructions
•
Check the rocker switch housing regularly for damage.
•
When mounted into a provisional socket, the rocker switch may only be
worn by an amputee within an orthopaedic workshop or as an inpatient
in a rehabilitation facility.
•
When installing the connection cable, make sure there are no tight
angles or kinks.
•
The rocker switch may not be used for bathing prostheses.
•
Instruct the patient in the proper handling of the rocker switch according
to the section "Patient-Specific Safety Instructions".
5.2 Patient-Specific Safety Instructions
•
Handle the rocker switch with care and check the housing and pivoting
mount for damage (e.g. cracks or breakage) before every use. Should
the rocker switch be damaged or not function properly, please contact
your prosthetist immediately.
•
Driving a vehicle of any kind or operating machinery is strictly prohibited
while wearing a provisional socket fitted with a rocker switch.
•
Do not allow debris or liquids to get into the rocker switch.
