Intended use

The fire helmets are solely intended for the following
operations:
fire fighting
any kind of rescue works, except for rescue from height
tasks associated with traffic accidents
all tasks that are included in the task area of a fire fighter,
except, however, for riding a motorbike
Any other use is prohibited.
Depending on the kind of operation, the fire helmets can be
equipped with the corresponding type of visor. The visors are
marked differently according to their intended use (see
Chapter 3.5 on Page 11). They can be used as follows:
Protection for
radiant heat
flames
impacts
sharp objects
impact of solid bodies
contact with liquids and
corrosive chemical substances
contact with melted metals
work involving chainsaws
wood work
contact with electrical current
work on live systems
The visors are solely intended for use with the fire helmets of
the Dräger HPS 4500 series.
CAUTION
!
Risk of injury.
Always use an appropriate visor when carrying out the
tasks mentioned above. Otherwise, you might suffer
burns or serious injuries.

The visors are approved in accordance with the following

Only use the fire helmets with accessories that are explicitly
approved for use with the fire helmet. If any accessory not
intended for use with this helmet or additional personal
protective equipment is worn, it is possible that the helmet no
longer fully conforms to the standards according to which they
are approved.
The fire helmets meet the requirements of the above-
mentioned European standards for the restraint system if the
chin strap supplied by Dräger is worn and adjusted in
accordance with these instructions.
3.5
Explanation of type-identifying marking
and symbols
The type-identifying marking is partly found on the label of the
packaging and partly on the components of the helmet.
