7 Operation
1) After connection of the 12 V supply voltage the camera is
ready for operation. The LED at the front panel is lighting.
2) Adjust the distance at the lens. For lenses with an iris
which is manually to be adjusted, set the distance to opti-
mum picture reproduction (depth of focus and gain).
3) If with correctly adjusted distance the image reproduction
is not sharp, the mechanical focus setting for the lens must
be adjusted. For this loosen the hex screw of the thread
ring of the lens at the bottom side of the housing. By turn-
ing the thread ring of the lens adjust a sharp picture. Then
tighten the hex screw again.
7.1 Electronic shutter
If pictures of extremely fast-moving objects are taken, switch
on the electronic shutter to improve the picture reproduction.
For this slide the DIP switch E.E. (1) to position ON. The
electronic shutter works with opening times of
1
/
seconds. By this the sensitivity of the camera is slightly
50 000
reduced. Therefore with very weak lighting the electronic
shutter should be switched off (position OFF).
7.2 Automatic gain control (AGC)
To compensate for brightness variations, the automatic gain
control should on principle be switched on with the DIP switch
AGC (2) (position ON). Only with very weak lighting and if
there is an unfavourable effect of the brightness variations
while moving the camera, switch off the gain control (position
OFF).
7.3 White balance
If the DIP switch W.B. (6) is in AUTO position, the camera
automatically carries out a white balance, i.e. the camera is
adjusted so that white areas are reproduced in real white
colour. If the automatic white balance is not sufficient, there
must be a manual adjustment:
1) Slide the DIP switch W.B. (6) to the position MANU.
2) Hold a white sheet of paper approx. 30 cm in front of the
camera.
