4.4.2 Setting the start address and
the number of DMX channels
For separate control of all DMX units connected
to the light controller, each unit must have its
own start address . Example: If the first DMX
channel of the ODP-120/6COL is to be con-
trolled by the light controller via DMX address 6,
set the start address on the ODP-120/6COL to 6 .
The other DMX channels of the ODP-120/6COL
will then be automatically assigned to the sub-
sequent addresses . Examples for various start
addresses:

5) Set all further ODP-120/6COL spotlights to be
controlled in sync to the same start address
and to the same number of channels .
The spotlight can now be controlled by DMX .
The DMX functions can be found in chapter
5 .1 on page 22 . If the ODP-120/6COL does not
receive any DMX control signal, the dot next to
DMX in the top left corner of the display will
keep flashing in red .
If the spotlight was set to independent op-
eration in between, go back to the main menu
item [DMX] to activate the DMX mode .
4.4.3 Using subaddresses
In the 13-channel mode, subaddresses can be
used to independently control up to 66 ODP-
4
120/6COL one after the other via a single DMX
9
start address . Thus, the maximum possible num-
7
ber of DMX units is substantially increased . DMX
channel 13 is used to select units with a sub-
9
address . Units having the same start address
and different subaddresses may be controlled
in sync if DMX channel 13 is set to a DMX value
less than 10 .
1) Select the main menu item [SET UP] .
2) Press the button ENTER . One of the submenu
items will be displayed .
3) Use the button UP or DOWN to select the
menu item [ID number] .
4) Press the button ENTER and use the button
UP or DOWN to select the subaddress . In the
setting OFF, DMX channel 13 is without func-
tion and can be used for the next DMX unit .
5) Press the button ENTER to save the setting .
6) To be able to operate the spotlight via the
subaddress, set DMX channel 13 on the light
controller to the DMX value corresponding to
the subaddress (refer to Fig . 16 on page 23) .
