Protection: In the case of a short circuit, the dimmer automati-
cally switches to OFF. After the short circuit has been elimina-
ted the dimmer automatically switches back into the ON posi-
tion (not applicable to wound transformers).
Excessive temperatures will cause the dimmer to switch OFF
the lighting automatically.
Remove the cause of the overtemperature. After an appropri-
ate
cooling-down period, the dimmer must be switched on again.
Where an overload is applied, the dimmer automatically swit-
ches the lighting OFF. After removal of the overload, the auto-
matically switches ON again (not applicable to wound trans-
formers).
3. Load reduction:
3.1. Load reduction through higher ambient temperatures
Reduction by 25 % per 10 K if ambient temperatures in excess
of 35°C/95°F occur.
3.2. Load reduction through mounting side by side
Reduction of 30 % in the case of two devices carrying equal
loads and reduction by 40 % in the case of three and more
devices carrying the same loads. No load reduction if there is a
ventilation clearance of 9 mm from both sides filler module
between the devices.
4. Important for installation and putting into operation
Load reduction in the case of higher ambient temperature
( 35°C/95°F)
Load reduction through mounting side by side
Conventional transformers: Secondary no-load operation is
not allowed when putting the device into operation or during
operation!
Additional secondary load shedding is not permissible!
Protect transformer primary against short circuits according to
manufacturer specifications. Parallel operation of max. two
transformers of the same type is possible (also different
power).
Parallel operation of wound and electronic transformers is not
permissible!
When calculating the rated power, allow for 5 % loss when
using electronic transformers and 20 % loss when using
wound transformers.
5. Hint for fault recovery
Work on the 230 V power system must be carried out by
authorised personnel only!
Switch off system voltage before commencing work on the
device!
Light cannot be switched on: possible causes are short
circuit or overload.
Incandescent lamp flickers: minimum load is not attained or
voltage fluctuations occur.
Dimmer switches off automatically: Excessive temperatures
have occurred caused by overcurrent or high ambient tempera-
ture. Remove cause for excessive warming. After an appropri-
ate cooling-down period, the dimmer must be switched on
again.
