FUNCTIONS
(FRONT)
1. FIXTURE buttons: used to select 1 or more fixtures at the same time (light effects or lamps). When a
fixture is selected, the corresponding LED is lit.
2. CHASE buttons: used to select a chase. The corresponding yellow LED has 3 functions:
 LED off: no chase stored.
 LED on: a chase sequence is stored.
 LED blinking: a chase sequence is stored and selected (active)
3. LIGHT SHOW button: used to set the unit to playback mode for the programmed chases (LED on).
Switch this mode off (LED off) if you want to program new chases or if you just want to use the Effect
Commander to switch the outputs manually on/off.
4. BLACKOUT button: used to set the unit in blackout (LED on) or not (LED off).
5. AUTO/SOUND button: used to choose the desired playback mode for the chases: static or sound.
Static mode (red LED):
This is the ideal mode if you want to switch several light effects on/off. You can control the speed
with the speed slider (6). You can toggle between 2 different speed ranges by pressing the
button for about 2seconds:
 Red LED on: use the speed slider (6) to change the speed between 1sec and 1min per step.
 Red LED blinking: use the speed slider (6) to change the speed between 5sec and 5min per
step.
Sound mode (green LED):
This is the ideal mode if you want to switch lamps on/off and make your own, programmable,
16channel light controller. Don't use this mode to switch light effects on/off! Playback speed of
the chases is controlled by the internal microphone.
6. SPEED SLIDER: used to set the playback speed of the chases.
7. CHASE EDIT / DELETE button: used to edit or delete chases
8. SAVE / INSERT / OVERWRITE SCENE button: used to save, insert and overwrite scenes of a chase.
9. DELETE SCENE button: used to delete scenes in a chase.

HOW TO USE
You can use this controller manually or you can program up to 12 chases. The number of steps (scenes) in
each chase is not important but the total maximum number for all chases together is 500.
Some words explained:
 SCENE: A scene is a set of different output values that describes a certain condition at a given moment.
Example: You have set fixtures 2, 7, 8, 12 and 16 to ON, the other fixtures are OFF. This combination is
called a "SCENE".
 CHASE: A chase is a succession of scenes. This succession of scenes (or steps) can be programmed by
the user in any order. This unit has 12 programmable chases.
BLACKOUT MODE
Explains how to cutoff all output of the unit (blackout all light).
When the power is turned on, the controller automatically enters in blackout mode (LED on). Just press the
"blackout" button to deactivate.
MANUAL MODE
Explains how to use the unit without programming anything.
Make sure the "light show" button (3) is off. Now you can use the "fixture" buttons (1) to switch the connected
light effects on/off. Attention: the LED next to the "blackout" button (4) must be off otherwise you have no
output!

B. Press one or more "fixture" buttons (corresponding LEDs are ON) to create the desired scene.
C. Press the "save" button (8) and select the desired "chase" button (2) to store your scene.
