WalkingBelt
SystemRoMedic
TM
WalkingBelt is used as support for gait training with children with impaired strength and stability. WalkingBelt provides
support around the torso and is held in place with a padded leg harness. WalkingBelt has two padded shoulder straps,
which are held by the caregiver to provide additional support and stability during gait training. It is not to be used as an
assistive device for lifting. WalkingBelt has a soft polyester lining that feels comfortable against the skin. The material has
an anti-slip function.
SystemRoMedic is a series of different models of transfer assistive devices. The choice of assistive devices depends on
the transfer situation and the patient's functional capability and needs.
Functional inspection
Visual inspection
Check the condition and function of the assistive device regularly. Always inspect the product after laundering. Check to
ensure that seams and material are free from damage. Check to ensure that fabric is not worn or faded. If there are signs
of wear, the product must be discarded.
Always read the manual
Always read the manuals for all assistive devices used during a transfer.
Keep the manual where it is accessible to users of the product.
Do not leave the patient unattended during a transfer situation.
Applying WalkingBelt
Place WalkingBelt around the patient's waist and place the arms through the shoulder straps.
Fasten and tighten the strap.
Adjust the shoulder straps to the appropriate length. The caregiver should keep her/his arms
relatively straight during gait training.
Place the leg harness under the patient, fasten and tighten. The leg harness should be tight enough
to provide good support, but not so tight that it causes discomfort.
