ROLL THE CABLE
ATTENTION: Do not release the cable tension as this may cause subsequent power problems.
1.
Remove the end of the cable from the spool, taking care not to reduce the tension. We recommend you cut
and discard the first 10cm of the cable to avoid knots; then, align the next 15cm of the cable.
2.
Loosen the lock nut and push it towards you.
3.
Raise the arm.
4.
Pass the cable through the guide, over the spool and into the torch protection. Press about 10-15 cm inside
the torch protection.
5.
Lower the arm and replace the locknut. Firmly tighten the locknut.
NOTE: A correct tension will allow the cable to run smoothly through the torch protection, and will
also allow the spool to slide in the event of blockage.
6.
Close the welder side panel.
7.
Remove the torch cover by turning it. Remove the contact tip.
8.
Connect the welder to an electricity source and turn it on.
9.
Set the cable intensity selector to the 7 or 8 position and press the trigger towards the torch
-
The cable will cross through the hose until you reach the end of the torch.
-
Make sure the hose has no folds.
10. Release the trigger and turn off the welder. Then, unplug it.
11. Re-adjust the contact tip. Place the torch cover.
12. Trim the welding cable so that it does not protrude more than 5mm from the end of the contact point.
NOTE: This machine supports 500g thread reels.
FUNDAMENTALS OF MIG WELDING
MIG welding allows the melting of 2 or more metals of similar characteristics without altering their properties. A filler
wire is continuously fed into the welding point through a hose and torch, which also provides inert gas or mixtures of
inert gas. The wire is connected to a low voltage but high current electrical source to create an electrical arc between
it and the workpiece. The arc is used to create the heat needed to melt the metals. The wire is used for filling.
The gas is used to prevent oxidation and protect the weld from environmental contamination. The gas you choose will
depend on the material to be welded.
MIG (Metal Inert Gas) for which it uses inert gases. They are not chemically involved in the casting process. The inert
gases used are Argon and Helium. The selection of the gas type depends on the material to be welded and the
welding technique (spray or short circuit) among others.
