TROUBLESHOOTING
The table includes some of the most common problems, their causes and remedies.
PROBLEM
The welder will not turn on.
The feed motor works but the
contact tip does not work.
The cable is welded to the contact
tip.
The welder switches off while in
use.

CAUSE
Check fuses and power sources.
Insufficient pressure on the reel.
The power cord becomes entangled.
The coil is released, hitting the inside
walls of the welder.
Power supply to the cable.
Poor quality welding.
Very slow feeding.
Incorrect tip size.
The cable has been soldered to the tip.
Damaged protection that prevents
cable slippage.
Loose lock nut.
Lock nut too tight.
Worn reel.
Insufficient pressure on the reel.
Dirty, rusty or twisted wire.
Protection locked.
Insufficient gas
Rust, dirt, grease or oil in the
workpiece.
Rusty or dirty wire.
Poor grounding contact.
Excessive working limit (automatic
shutdown is activated).
SOLUTION
Replace fuses if necessary. If the problem
persists, contact your dealer.
The feed motor does not work.
Contact your dealer.
Increase the pressure on the reel.
Cut out the wire.
Clean with compressed air or replace.
Use a new rod.
Replace the reel.
Unscrew the tip, cut the wire and insert a new
tip by increasing the speed of the wire, before
re-operation.
Place a tip of the correct size.
Reduce reel pressure.
Renew the protection.
Tighten the lock nut securely, but do not
overtighten.
Slightly loosen the lock nut.
Check and replace if necessary.
Increase the pressure on the reel without
over-tightening.
Cut out the wire and make sure it is clean.
Clean with compressed air.
Check that nothing is dissipating the gas. Go
to a protected area. Increase gas supply.
Make sure the workpiece is clean and dry.
Make sure the wire is clean and dry.
Check the connection between the earth
clamp and the workpiece.
Allow the welder to cool down for 15 to 30
minutes before continuing.
Welder too small for the operation being
performed.
Note: If the working limit has been exceeded,
the welder may be damaged.
