Installation
CAUTION
Combustion hazard!
When installing there is a risk from escaping hazardous
hot measuring materials.
► Temperature transmitter must be installed only when
not under pressure!
Temperature transmitters are intended for screwing directly
into the process. The installation length as well as flow
velocity and viscosity of the process medium may reduce
the max. protective tube load capacity.
The housing must be protected from electromagnetic fields
and grounded against electrostatic discharges. Do not
connect separately to the potential compensation system if
there is fixed and secured metallic contact with the
container or its construction parts or has tube lines if these
are connected to the potential compensation system.
If there is non-metallic contact with the container or its
construction parts or tube lines, the device must be
provided with potential compensation.

Specifications for the threaded mounting holes can be
found in DIN 3852 and for NPT threads in ANSI B 1.20.
Sealing
To seal the process connections with round threads at the
sealing surface (see Fig. 6) use flat gaskets, sealing lenses.
For tapered threads (e.g. NPT threads) seal the threads
using for example PTFE tape (EN 837-2).
