• Operating similar tools nearby increases both the risk of hearing injury and the potential
for other persons to enter your work area.
• Keep fi rm footing and balance.
• Do not overreach. Overreaching can result in loss of balance. Always be sure of the
footing on slopes.
• Walk, never run. Keep all parts of your body away from any moving part.
• Never run the product without the proper equipment attached.
• Do not modify the product in any way or use parts and accessories that are not

If the product is dropped, suff ers heavy impact or begins to
vibrate abnormally, immediately stop the product and
inspect for damage or identify the cause of the vibration. Any
damage should be properly repaired or replace by an
authorized service centre.
• To reduce the risk of injury associated with contacting rotating parts, always stop the

When older hedges are to be cut back a substantial amount, use pruning shears or some other
device to trim thicker branches (greater than 8 mm diameter) to the desired length before
starting work with the grass shear. To shape precisely, run a taught line between the extreme edges of the
hedge and then trim along the length of the line. Ensure that the blade does not come into contact with
any object made of hard material that could damage it, such as fencing wire or metallic plant supports.
Cutting tips
1. Shaping
The hedge should be trimmed to achieve a trapezoidal form, it should widen toward the
bottom at both sides. This improves the penetration of light to the lower extremities. A general guideline
is approximately 10cm slant for each 1 meter of hedge height.
2. Cutting sequence
First cut both sides, starting at the bottom and working to the top: this prevents cuttings from
falling into the area where you are still to work.
3. Trimming the top
Where the branches have grown extremely long, cut back the hedge in several stages. The
