Precautions
t Do not use/store the camera in
the following places
• Ill an extremely hot, cold or humid place
In places such as ill a car parked ill the sun. fl_e
camera body may become delormed and this
ulay cause a malfunction.
• Under direct sunlighl ur near a heater
The caulera body may become discolored or
defornled, and this may cause a mallunction.
• Ill a location subjecl to rocking vibration
• Near strong magnetic place
• Ill sandy ur dusty places
Be careful not Io let sand or dust get inlo tile
camera. This may cause the camera to
malfnncfion, and ill some cases fills malfunction
cannot be repaired.
On carrying
Do not sit down ill a chair cu other place with tile
camera in the back pocket of your trousers or
skirt, as this ulay cause malfunction or damage the
canlera.
On cleaning
Cleaning the LCD screen
Wipe the screen surface with an LCD cleaning kit
(not supplied) to remove fingerprints, (lust. etc.
Cleaning the lens
Wipe file lens wifll a soft cloth io remove
fingerprints, dust, etc.
Cleaning the camera surface
(7lean tile camera surface wiih a soft clofll slightly
moistened with water, then wipe the surface with
a dry cloth. To prevent damage to ll_e finish or
casing:
• Do not expose the canlera to chenlical products
such as thinner, benzine, alcohol, disposable
cloths, insect repellent, sunscreen or inseclicide.
• Do not touch lhe camera with any ol the above
on your hand.
• Do not leave the canlera ill contacl wiih rubber
or vinyl for a long time.
t On operating temperatures
Your camera is designed _r use under tile
temperatures between 0°C and 40°C (32°F and
104°F). Shooting ill extremely cold or hot places
lhat exceed fills range is not recommended.
On moisture condensation
11" the camera is brought directly li:onl a cold to a
warm locaiion, moisture may condense inside or
outside the canlera. This nloisture condensation
may cause a malfunction of lhe camera.
If moisture condensation occurs
Turn off the canlera and wait about an hour for the
moisture Io evaporate. Note thal if you shoot with
moisture renlaining inside lhe lens. inlages will
not be clear.
On the internal rechargeable
backup battery
This cmnera has an inlerual rechargeable battery
for maintaining tile (late and time and other
se_tings regardless of whether tile power is un o_
off'.
This rechargeable battery is continually charged
as long as yuu are using the camera. However, if
you use the camera for only short periods, it
discharges gradually, and if you do no{ use file
canlera at all lk)r about one nlonth il becomes
conlpletely discharged. In this case. be sure to
charge this rechargeable baltery before using the
canlera,
However, even if this rechargeable battery is not
charged, you call still use tile camera, but the date
and lime will not be indicaled.
