3. Prior to Operation

Always ensure tools are used,
inspected and maintained in
compliance with the respective
local, state, national or federal
regulations.
• Before starting to work, disconnect enginge
from power supply. Carefully read operating
instructions for the engine and if necessary
for the other equipment assemblies and
devices (e.g. radio etc.)
ATTENTION
Ensure that the radio code is recorded.
CAUTION
Jacked up vehicles must be secured
adequately.
ATTENTION
Only use appropriate spare parts.

• These 3 x shaped locking pins are designed
to provide access to the flywheel datum
hole enabling the engine to be locked at
TDC.
• Use of these specially shaped Locking Pins
is essential to overcome difficult access
around starter motors/injection pumps etc.

holes through camshaft sprockets and
injection pump sprockets and fixed datum
holes on the engine to allow the camshaft
and injection pump to be locked in their
timed positions by using sized locking pins
