TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE.
PROBLEM
Fan Clutch Fails to engage.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Electrical Problem.
1. Broken circuit (N.O. System).
2. Improperly Wired.
3. Thermal Switch incorrect (for
application) or defective.
4. Defective Solenoid Valve.
Air Problem.
1. Clutch leaking.
2. Restricted air supply to clutch.
3. Defective Solenoid Valve.
Fan Clutch Fails to Disengage
PROBABLE CAUSE
Electrical Problem.
1. Broken Circuit (N.C. System).
2. System incorrectly wired.
3. Incorrect or defective Thermal Switch.
Air Problem.
1. Air Line restricted, not allowing
air to exhaust from Fan Clutch.
2. Solenoid Valve not exhausting.
Piston/Friction Disc will not return.
PROBABLE CAUSE
1. Possibly due to air contamination
or dry splines.
SOLUTION
1. Check electrical connections.
2. Check wiring.
3. Replace Thermal Switch.
4. Replace Solenoid Valve.
1. Install new Seal Kit.
2. Check air fitting and air lines for leaks
or pinching.
3. Replace Solenoid Valve.
SOLUTION
1. Check electrical connections.
2. Check wiring.
3. Replace Thermal Switch.
1. Check air line between Fan Clutch and
Solenoid Valve for restrictions or
obstructions.
2. Replace Solenoid Valve.
SOLUTION
1. Clean and coat PFD Assembly with
Never-Seeze ('S' & "HT/S" only).
2. Use clean air supply.
