3 Special points concerning the MEDISANA MP 820
• The MEDISANA MP 820 manicure and pedicure device is simple to operate and ideal for the
extensive care of nails, cuticles and slight calluses on the hands and feet. It is particularly suitable for
treating ingrown and very tough nails and also for treating calluses, rough skin and corns.
• The sapphire heads have an extremely long life and virtually never wear out.
• The unit is fitted with a safe quick-clamping chuck with automatic locking.
• Do not soften the skin on hands and feet prior to treatment.
• Due to the minimal risk of injury, the MP 820 is also especially suitable for use by diabetics or older
people.
• Why is the MP 820 especially suitable for use with diabetics?
Because the speed is continuously adjustable and the device stops if too much pressure is used, the
unit can also be used safely by persons who have reduced sensitivity to pain or are unable to react
quickly to pain. Also, the sapphire accessory heads only remove dead skin.

4 Operating the unit

• The appliance is fitted with a NiMH rechargeable battery. You must fully charge the device before
using it for the first time. Plug the mains adapter
then plug the mains adapter into the power socket. The red battery charging LED
(about once every two seconds) indicates that charging is in progress. When charging is completed,
the flashing stops. The LED goes out.
• Push the required attachment into the opening of the quick-clamping chuck
resistance.
• The ON/OFF / speed controller +/–
about 1mm towards "+", the attachment starts turning at the slowest speed and the two LEDs
to the side of the attachment illuminate the area where it is being used.
• Use the switch
regulate the speed. Start slowly for each application and increase the continuously adjustable
rotating speed to suit your individual requirements.
• This produces a small amount of dust. The sapphire heads only remove dead skin particles with
careful grinding. Stop the treatment at once if you find that the removal of hard skin is unpleasant.
• If the battery is low, the performance of the device will decrease. If the battery is empty, the
U-shaped LED on the head of the device is blinking. If the battery is low, mains operation is also
possible.
