Connection to the mains supply
The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the
regulations. This appliance is equipped with a voltage selector which can be set to different supply
voltages. Always ensure that the selector is set to the correct voltage.
Thermal safety cut-out
The preset thermal safety cut-out protects the heating element from overheating should the
appliance be erroneously switched on without containing any water, or if the heating element is
calcified. Once the safety cut-out has switched off the kettle, it must be allowed to cool down
sufficiently, or must be decaled, before being switched on again.
Boiling water
1. Set the voltage selector to the correct voltage.
2. Place the machine on a flat surface.
3. Open the water container lid and fill the container with water to the desired level, observing
the minimum and maximum marks on the inside of the.
4. Close the lid.
5. Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket and use the On/Off switch to turn the kettle on.
The indicator lights come on.
6. The boiling process begins. After reaching boiling point, the appliance is automatically
switched off by the integral steam cut-off device. The indicator lights go out.
7. To interrupt the boiling process, use the On/Off switch to turn the kettle off.
8. Always remove the plug from the wall socket before pouring hot water.
9. To prevent hot steam from being emitted, ensure that the lid remains closed while pouring.
10. Do not leave any residual water in the container.
Cleaning
WARNING:
- Always turn the device off before cleaning it and remove the mains plug. Wait until the
device has cooled down.
- Never immerse the device or the base in water or other liquids.
CAUTION:
- Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
- Rinse the water container out with clean water. Then dry it off with a cloth.
- Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.
Decalcification
The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the water and on
how often the appliance is used.
If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.
