2-3. Setting up the UPS

Step 1: UPS input connection
Plug the UPS into a two-pole, three-wire, grounded receptacle only. Avoid using extension
cords.
 For IEC & LV models: The power cord is supplied in the UPS package.
 For NEMA models HV: The power cord is integrated to the UPS. The input plug is a NEMA
5-15P for E4 VALUE 1000, NEMA 5-20P and E4 VALUE 1500/2000 models.
 For E4 VALUE NEMA 3000 LV & HV, connect the supply wires to the "Input" terminal. A
circuit breaker (40A) must also be installed between the mains and the AC input of the
UPS for the 3KVA NEMA models for safety operations.
Step 2: UPS output connection
To connect directly to the IEC output (IEC or NEMA), simply connect your devices to the
outlets with a M/F cable.
For E4 VALUE 3000 models, if the charge is higher than 10A (IEC) or 15A (NEMA) or if
there is only one output connect into a distribution board :

A circuit breaker (40A) must also be installed between the mains and the AC input of the
UPS for the 3KVA NEMA models for safety operations.
c) Upon completion of the wiring connection, please check that the wires are securely
affixed.
d) Put the small cover back on the rear panel.
Step 3: Communication connection
Communication ports:
To allow for unattended UPS shutdown/start-up and/or status monitoring, connect one end of
