Measurement procedure

1. Hold the device by the ribbed rubber
grip as far towards the rear as pos-
sible, as otherwise the high water
content of your hand will falsify the
capacitive measurement field.
2. Hold the measuring head perpen-
dicular to the measuring material
and place it firmly on the measu-
ring material.
3. Maintain the minimum distance of
8 - 10 cm from the corner areas.

4. Place the measuring head exclusively on smooth surfaces. Rough
surfaces falsify the measured value.
5. Keep the ‚MEAS' button depressed during the measurement proce-

dure. If you release it, the measuring instrument displays the last
measured value by means of the hold function. The BM 30 measures
continuously as long as the ‚MEAS' button is kept depressed.
6. Pressing the MAX/MIN button causes the highest or lowest value
obtained during a continuous measurement procedure to be
displayed.
7. The ‚backlight' button switches on the illumination of the LCD
display, e.g. in dark rooms.
