Working safely with this ma-
chine is possible only when the
operating and safety information
are read completely and the in-
structions contained therein are
strictly followed. In addition, the
general safety instructions in the
enclosed booklet must be fol-
lowed. Before using for the first
time, ask for a practical demon-
stration.
If the mains cable is damaged or
cut through while working, do not
touch the cable but immediately
pull the mains plug. Never use the
machine with a damaged cable.
For long hair, wear hair protection.
Work only with closely fitting
clothes.
Wear protective glasses and ear
protection.
Connect machines that are used in the open
via a residual current device (RCD) with an ac-
tuating current of 30 mA maximum. Use only
extension cables that are approved for outdoor
use.
Insert the mains plug only when the machine is
switched off.
When drilling use the auxiliary handle 10.
Always direct the cable to the rear away from
the machine.
When working with the machine, always hold it
firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance.
Be careful when screwing in long screws; dan-
ger of sliding off.
Place the machine on the screw /nut only when
switched off.
For screws, work using the first gear or with a
low speed.
If the drilling tool jams it will cause the tool to
jolt. If this occurs switch the tool off immedi-
ately.

Always switch off the machine and allow to
come to a stop before placing it down.
Bosch is only able to ensure perfect function-
ing of the machine if the original accessories
intended for it are used.
Auxiliary Handle/Depth Stop
(see figure
When drilling use the auxiliary handle 10.
The drilling depth can be set with the depth
stop 11.
The ribbing on depth stop 11 must point upwards.
For this, press the push-button for the depth-stop
adjustment 9, adjust the required drilling depth X
and release the push-button for the depth-stop
adjustment 9 again.
Inserting the Tool
Quick clamping drill chuck with

The fully automatic spindle locking makes quick
and easy changing of the tool in the drill chuck
possible.
Open drill chuck enough so the tool can be in-
serted. Then insert the tool. Close the sleeve of
the quick catch drill chuck 1 by turning it hard with
your hand until you don't hear a "click" any longer.
This is the way to lock the drill chuck automati-
cally.
The locking is released again to remove the tool
when the collar is turned in the opposite direction.

Insert the tool and tighten all 3 bores equally with
the chuck key 12.
Screwdriver Tools (Accessory)
(see figure
When using screwdriver bits 14, a bit holder 15
should always be used. Use only the screwdriver
bits that fit the screw head.
For driving screws, position the selector switch 2
to the symbol "Drilling and Driving".
