7 Care and maintenance

7.1 Care of the machine
Keep the following parts clean at all times: depth gauge,
carriage, spindle, clamping flange and ventilation slots.
NOTE
A cloth, a brush or, if necessary, compressed air can be
used to clean the machine.

8 Troubleshooting

Fault
The machine doesn't start.
The motor doesn't run at full
power.
Cutting performance is low.

9 Disposal

Most of the materials from which Hilti machines or appliances are manufactured can be recycled. The materials must
be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, Hilti has already made arrangements for taking
back old machines and appliances for recycling. Ask Hilti customer service or your Hilti representative for further
information.
For EC countries only
Disposal of electric appliances together with household waste is not permissible.
In observance of the European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its imple-
mentation in accordance with national law, electrical appliances that have reached the end of their life
must be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.

7.2 Changing the carbon brushes

DANGER
Have the machine repaired by an electrical specialist
(Hilti Service) using genuine Hilti spare parts. The
users may otherwise be exposed to potential hazards.
Possible cause
The supply cord or plug is defective.
No electric power.
The carbon brushes are worn.
The machine was overloaded due to
application of excessive cutting pres-
sure.
The machine has overheated due to
prolonged overloading.
The diamond discs are unsuitable for
the material to be cut.
The diamond cutting discs are badly
worn or inadequately sharpened.
Remedy
Contact Hilti Service.
Check the electric supply. Connect
the machine to a functioning electric
supply.
Contact Hilti Service.
Reduce cutting pressure.
Allow the machine to cool down (run-
ning without load accelerates cool-
ing). After cooling, switch off and then
on again in order to operate the ma-
chine at full power.
Use suitable diamond cutting discs.
Change or sharpen the diamond cut-
ting discs.
