Start-up
Prior to initial use or when the automatic coffee maker has not been
operated over a long period, fill the appliance with the maximum
amount of water but without coffee powder, let the water boil and
finally rinse the filter and pot with hot water.
Brewing coffee
Fill only cold water into the water tank. The water level display applies
to the amount of fresh water which is needed to brew the desired
number of cups of coffee, each containing 125 ml. The scale on the
glass pitcher indicates finished 125 ml cups.
Open the lid to add coffee grounds. Put a 1 x 4 paper filter into the
filter, first slightly folding the embossed edge over. The paper filter
must not protrude beyond the edge of the filter and should therefore
be slightly pressed down by hand.
Add the required amount of coffee grounds. Depending on personal
taste, use approx. 5-7 g of moderately finely ground coffee per cup.
The filter may overflow if it is too finely ground.
Plug the electrical plug into a grounded outlet and turn the unit on
using the on/off switch. The control light signals the start of brewing.
Wait until the coffee has completely run into the pitcher. The pitcher
can be taken out when it has finished running through. The drip stop
prevents remaining coffee from dripping out of the filter. In the glass
pitcher, the finished coffee is automatically kept at serving tempera-
ture on the warming plate until the unit is turned off. Note that the
coffee loses aroma when kept warm too long.
Cleaning
Disconnect the power plug and leave the appliance to cool down.
Never immerse the appliance in water; simply wipe the exterior using a
damp cloth with a drop of washing-up.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
Clean the filter and glass pot under running water or in the dishwas-
her.
