Speed display

The speed of the RW 14 basic stirring unit is set using the knob
(D) on the front of the appliance (see fig. 7). The scale on the front
panel displays the set speed (The values only apply when the stir-
ring shaft is in normal mode and not in overload mode).

Commissioning

Assemble the test texture on a stable, even, non- slip surface. The
RW 14 basic laboratory stirrer must be secured to a stable stand
(e.g. R 1825, R 1826 or R 1827) with a cross - sleeve (e.g. R 182)
(see fig 1). The stirring bowl must always be securely fixed for
safety reasons. You must also ensure that the mounting equip-
ment (e.g. fixed plate) is set up in such a way that it is not liable to
topple and does not start to move during the stirring procedure.
Accessories must be assembled according to the following
assembly instructions:

Securing the laboratory stirrer to the stand

First secure the cross sleeve (K)
to the stand leg (I).
Then secure the cantilever (L) of
the laboratory stirrer in the open
side of the cross sleeve which is
facing upwards. Once you have
set the position required for the
stirring procedure, firmly tighten
the two clamping screws (M).

Securing the stirring element

Slide the stirring element (G) into
the chuck (F) as far as the stop as
shown and firmly tighten using
the chuck key (H) ( +
locks/clamps; - chuck opens).
Securing the stirring shaft protec-
tion
You must use stirring shaft pro-
tection when working to prevent
injury. This is secured to the
stand leg (I) using a cross sleeve
(K) and a supporting bar (N). The
plastic half shells are secured to the supporting bar (N) as shown
in fig. 6 using the screws (P) provided ( + tighten screw; - loo-
sen screw). You can alter the length of the stirring shaft protection
using the screw (Q).
