10. Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning and disinfection
Please check the housing of your infrared thermometer at regu-
lar intervals for any visible signs of damage or soiling and plea-
se make sure that the keys are in good working order . Please
ensure that the sensor tip is clean and free of dirt or any other
substances . Your infrared thermometer should be checked once
a year using a suitable means of testing to check the measuring
accuracy (see operating instructions) .
Please use a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution and a moist swab
or soft cloth to remove any dirt or other signs of fouling BEFO-
RE taking the temperature . Please make sure that there are
no remains of the cleaning solution on the thermometer when
cleaning/disinfection has been completed .
Please ensure that no liquids are allowed to enter

the thermometer casing. Do not use caustic cleaning
agents, scouring powder or benzene to clean. Do not
immerse in water or any other household detergent or
cleaning agent.
Storage
Please store the thermometer at room temperature in its origi-
nal casing or a protective sheath when not used over a longer
period .

Please ensure that the display and lens of the measuring tip are
not subjected to scratches .
Remove the batteries from the battery compartment when the
device is not used or needed over a longer period . This prevents
the batteries from causing any damage to the device In case
of a leak .
Changing the battery
- The batteries are empty and need to be replaced when the
battery symbol on the display starts to blink .
- Open the battery compartment and change the batteries . Remove the
battery compartment cover by applying a little pressure to the rippled
arrow symbol on the back of the thermometer and slide the cover off .
- Insert the batteries carefully and take care to make sure that
the poles are properly aligned (+)/(-) . Batteries which have not
been inserted properly can damage your device .This can have
an effect on the guarantee .
- Do not use rechargeable batteries . Use high-quality normal
batteries only .
Lifetime
The infrared thermometer has been developed to meet the
highest demands in daily and professional use . The lifetime is
around 6 Years .
