• If the brushcutter functions in an
unusual manner, turn engine off,
push cutter to the ground, and
hold firmly while the engine and
cutting attachment come to a
stop.
Personal Protective Equipment
1
for your Safety
To avoid injuries to the head, eyes,
hands and feet, as well as to avoid
hearing loss, it is necessary to wear
the following protective clothing/
gear:
• Snug fitting clothing is
recommended. Clothing should
fit snugly and not get in the way.
Do not wear a long coat, shorts,
sandals, scarfs, neckties or
jewelry, which may get caught in
bushes or tree branches.
• Wear protective headgear.
• Protect your face and eyes with a
face mask or safety glasses.
• In order to avoid hearing loss, it is
recommended wearing hearing
protectors, such as ear plugs, etc.
• A hair net or similar protection is
recommended in case of long hair.
• Wear work-gloves with slip-
resistant palms.
• Wear rugged shoes with non-slip
soles (safety shoes are
recommended).
Local workers' safety laws and
regulations are to be followed.
• Use the brushcutter only for the
job for which it is intended - never
use it for other purposes!
2
Environmental Protection
Protect your environment
• Be watchful of animals/pets which
might take cover under bushes or
underbrush!
• Consider that noise can be a
nuisance for the environment.
Operating instructions
3
Important instructions for all Models:
- Approach cutting task by running machine in
idle and then at full throttle.
- Never accelerate the engine without a load.
Warning: In order to achieve optimum
cutting, it is necessary that the
brushcutter is operated at full throttle.
It is also necessary that cutting takes place in
the recommended direction.
Move the cutting attachment two-thirds into the
respective area to be cut. Then use the cutter
like a scythe (illustration 3) by moving forward
step by step and by cutting the area from right
to left.
4
Chisel-tooth circular saw blade
The circular saw blade is only to be used together
with the metal guard, Part No. 6012841. The
blade is used for cutting bushes and trees up to
5 cm (2 inches) branch/trunk diameter. For
optimum cutting, the engine is accelerated to
full throttle prior to making contact with the
brush or tree. The cutting is done evenly without
angling the cutting blade.
Work with the left stop edge (sector A, shown
in illustration 4).
Warning:
Increased risk of accident and kick-
back exists in sector C.
Solid material should not be cut in this sector.
There are work techniques for tree
chopping which allow using sectors B
and D. These are only to be utilized
by professional operators since there
is a potential for kick-back.
Increased kick-back danger occurs:
- when using dull cutting parts
- when making contact with a foreign
object while cutter is rotating.
Kick back can cause the brushcutter to be
thrown violently to the right, which may lead
to uncontrolled twisting of the operator and
possible injury.
