OSCILLOSCOPE KIT _______________________________________________________________________
2.0 -

CONNECTIONS

ATTENTION:
The vehicle's engine shall be switched off before making the
connections for the secondary diagnostics as the coil and spark plug
high voltage is dangerous.
2.1 -

Use in SCOPE and VOLTMETER mode

•
Connect the ground cable (5) to the COM port (10) and to the vehicle chassis or
to the negative pole of the battery.
•
Connect the supplied cable (1) to the BNC oscilloscope connector (11) of the
Stargas.
•
Use the supplied accessories (2) and (3) in order to use the probe cable according
to the tests to be carried out.
NOTA BENE:
In order to properly connect the instrument to a specific vehicle it is advisable to see
the manual of the vehicle itself.
2.2 -

Use of the instrument in the AMMETER mode

•
Connect the clip-on ammeter (4) to the BNC oscilloscope connector (11) of the
Stargas.
2.3 - Use of the instrument in the OHMMETER mode
(present only on SL31205/PLUS)
•
Connect the ground cable (21) to the COM (10) socket and insert the black test
prod (22) on the cable plug.
•
Connect the oscilloscope cable (1) to the Stargas BNC (11) oscilloscope connector
and insert the red test prod (3) on the cable plug.
•
Use the red test prod (3) and the black test prod (22) to carry out the ohms
measurement.
2.4 -

Connections for ignitions with distributor - primary

To connect the oscilloscope to vehicles with ignition with distributor carry out the
following operations:
•
Connect the ground cable (5) to ground the system.
•
Connect the oscilloscope cable (1) to the primary (- coil).
