Connecting the trailer control module
14. Secure the trailer control module (Fig. 1/3) on the left side in the side wall pocket using some
velcro tape.
15. Plug the 12-pin plug and the 18-pin plug into the trailer control module.
16. Connect the black wires with the eyelet to the vehicle's ground point (Fig. 1/5).
Connecting the power supply
17. At the 2-pole plug-in connector, cut off 4 mm of the yellow cable and install the supplied
contact. Put on the individual housing (Fig. 1/4).
18. Connect the plug-in connector to the red/blue cable of the cable harness (Fig. 1/4) and let
them lock together.
19. Insert a 20A fuse into the fuse box on the right (magnifying glass in Fig. 1) in the position that
is marked green. There may already be a fuse.
20. Only for 13-pin trailer socket.
Using the 3-pin connector for the constant plus extension kit (Fig. 1/4), the following functions
can be retrofitted:
"Constant plus", "Charging lead" and "Ground for charging lead", Westfalia part number

Note
Ensure sufficient strain relief and correct installation of the fuse holder and of the plug-in
connectors.
Special information concerning vehicles with parking distance control (PDC)
On vehicles with PDC it is possible to deactivate the PDC for trailer operation using a button that
is located on the instrument board. There is no automatic turn-off integrated.
Checking the correct operation
21. Reconnect the ground of the vehicle's battery.
22. Check the trailer function with the help of a suitable test instrument (with load resistors) or
with the help of a trailer.
23. Secure all cables using cable ties.
24. Reattach any parts removed for installation.
