2. Information about the water

We recommend to use distilled or dem-
ineralised water.
Water treated with any kind of decalcifying
systems (ex. salt-based) or water from tum-
ble-dryers is unfit, since it may be very cor-
rosive. Never use water treated with filter
cartridges, since the residues (ex. particles
of activated carbon) may block the mechanic
parts of the appliance.
Never add in water perfumes or other addi-
tives.
Water treated in the wrong way may damage
the steam process with subsequent cleaning
and repair expenses.

3. Filling the appliance with water

- Pull the plug out of the mains socket
- Open the tank cup (6) and fill with water.
Maximum capacity: 0.35 litres
Important: do not overfill the water tank or
place the iron under a tap to fill it: electric
shock hazard! Use decalcified or distilled
water for irons only!
- Close the tank cup
Important: the maximum capacity of the wa-
ter tank is ca. 0.35 litres. Never fill the iron
under a water tap: electric shock hazard!
4. Temperature control
- To steam iron, set the temperature control
to the area between «

Tip:
- The iron symbols on garments only refers
to dry ironing (see also page 25) and shall
not be observed when steam ironing. For
very delicate fabrics we recommend to
use a cloth.
5. Starting the appliance
- Insert the plug into the mains socket (220-
240 V / 50-60 Hz)
- The iron turns on by setting the tempera-
ture control to the required ironing tem-
perature
- To steam iron, always set the temperature
control to the area between «

- The iron heats up in about 2 minutes
Tip:
- The iron may give out some smoke when
using it for the first time. It is a technical
phenomenon that will cease after a short
while.
