Installation instructions:

Remove rear bumper and deformation elements from left and right of vehicle. Cut out plastic

bumper according to inner marking (roughened horizontal surface).
Insert towing bracket 'A' together with bumper into opening of rear end plate so that holes 'a'

are aligned with fixture points on vehicle.
Insert enclosed M 10 bolts and tighten. (Bolts are of strength class 10.9 / 100).
3.) At point 'e' (only for Golf, 4-Motion), insert from the side and tighten the additional 2 bolts
provided by Westfalia (strength class 10.9 / 100).
Secure socket holder 'B' with assembled electrical set at 'f' with two M 6 nuts.
4.)
Important: The electrical set can only be installed with the towing bracket.
Tighten all bolts and nuts uniformly.

Tightening torque:
Refit plastic bumper with standard bolts. Deformation elements are no longer required for

vehicles with towing bracket.
The cutout in the bumper must be sealed with a cover when a trailer is not in use. The cover
7.)
must be ordered separately from a V.A.G. dealer, and can be subsequently painted in the
appropriate colour to match the vehicle. The cover must be cut out to correspond to the inner
marking in the towbar area.
