Replacing the exhalation valve

1. Remove the screw from the flap.
2. Open the flap.
3. Pull the straight arm of the spring bridge outwards and remove the
spring bridge (figure I on page 3).
4. Remove the valve disk.
5. Check if valve disk and seat are clean and undamaged. Clean or
replace if necessary.
6. Insert the valve disk.
7. Put the spring onto the center of the valve disk, insert the bent arm
and lock both arms of the spring bridge into place.
8. Close the flap and fasten the screw.

Replacing the inhalation valve

1. Pull the inhalation valve seat out of the connector.
2. Check if valve disk and seat are clean and undamaged. Clean or
replace if necessary.
3. Insert the inhalation valve seat into the facepiece.

Replacing the valve disks of the nose cup valves

Check if valve disk and seat are clean and undamaged. Clean or
replace if necessary.

Replacing the connector (figures on page 3)
1. Remove both funnel and nose cup.
2. Remove the screw from the flap and take off the flap.
3. Unhook the cap from the visor frame (figure F1-1) on both sides.
4. Use your thumb to press against the bottom part of the cap, then
remove the cap from the fastening lugs (figure F1-2).
5. Pull the cap upwards and away from the facepiece.
6. Use a screw driver to pry open the clamping ring, then remove it.
7. Pull out the old connector.
8. Insert the new connector so that it is form-fitting and aligned
according to the center marking.
9. Align and mount a new clamping ring: Attach the hook to ensure
the tightest possible fit of the clamping ring. Compress the nose on
the clamping ring using type R53239 pliers until the connector is
securely located in the facepiece body.
10. Put the cap onto the connector, lock it into place on the fastening
lugs and hook it into the visor frame.
11. Close the flap and fasten the screw.
12. Attach both nose cup and funnel.

Replacing the hairnet (figures on page 3)
Remove the hairnet as follows:
1. Turn the clip of the hairnet (figure J1-1).
2. Push the clip of the hairnet away from the flap of the facepiece
(figure J1-2).
Attach the hairnet to the facepiece as follows:
Put the clip onto the flap of the facepiece, then pull the clip so that
it clicks into place (figure J2).
Make sure that the nose on the strap locks firmly into the hole of
the clip.
5.4

Leak tests

The leak test should be performed with one of the following test
devices:
Dräger Testor 3500
Dräger Quaestor 5000
(1) Checking leak-tightness
1. Moisten both face seal and exhalation valve with water.
2. Mount the facepiece on the test head.
3. Make sure that the face seal fits tightly onto all parts of the test
head.
4. Seal the connector with the test adapter and produce a negative
pressure of 10 mbar (approx. 10 cm H
