Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the spare wheel.
3. If necessary, remove the following covers and panels:
Covering of luggage trunk bottom

Covering of the rear end plate
-
Side covering on the left and on the right (only in the area of the tail light)
-

Inside the vehicle
Access strips, left side
-
Lower dashboard covering (fuse box / central fuse, relay and terminal box)
-
Lower A-pillar covering
-
Back of the left-hand back seat
-
When connecting the PDC deactivation system, remove also:
Carpet under the back seats
-
Access strips, right side
-
Lower A-pillar covering, right side
-
4. Bore a hole of 18 mm for the cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/8, Fig. 2/8) on the left-hand side of the
luggage trunk above the spare wheel well.
5. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable leadthrough (Fig. 2/8).
6. Starting in the luggage compartment, lead the socket end of the cable harness through the
inserted cable leadthrough (Fig. 3) to the outside to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/9).
Installing the socket
7. Fit the socket gasket and connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with
the pin assignment plan (Fig. 1/9) and push the rubber grommet against the socket.
8. Screw the socket onto the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/9) using the supplied screws and nuts.
9. Secure the cable with cable ties (Fig. 3).
Connecting the tail lights
10. Lay the cable end with the left-side marking to the left-hand tail light (Fig. 1/7).
11. Disconnect the plug-in connectors of the left tail light (Fig. 1/7). Pull the cable back into the
vehicle. Connect the plug-in connectors to the matching counterparts of the cable harness.
Lay the new cable harness to the outside and to the tail light and connect it. Make sure that
the plugs lock firmly into place. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable bushing. Insulate the
plug-in connectors on the inside with a foam sheet (noise emission).
12. Lay the cable end with the right-side marking along the rear end plate to the right-hand tail
light (Fig. 1/10).
13. Repeat step 11 on the right side (Fig. 6).
14. Connect the black wire with the eyelet to the vehicle's ground point (Fig. 1/6).
