2.3. Indicators
2.3.1. Display
Alphanumeric LCD where the test number, measurement results, the
measuring unit, the time indication (in minutes and seconds), the analog
indication by means of a bargraph and messages to the operator are
displayed.
2.3.2. Analog bargraph
During a measurement, the operator must observe at the higher part of
the bargraph, where the measured values are displayed. The bargraph
shows the gradual variation of the insulation resistance value. The
bargraph scale is logarithmic, by decades, however, to make the readings
easier, it is linear inside the segment which represents each decade. The
following figure allows to visualize this concept:
The bigger marks are the beginning of each decade (1 MΩ - 10 MΩ -
100 MΩ - etc). Between 10 MΩ and 100 MΩ there are 3 intermediate
indications which corresponds to 25 MΩ - 50 MΩ - 75 MΩ. The same
concept can be applied to the others decades.
To check the battery charge status, the operator must observe the lower
part of the bargraph. Keep pressed the button , the bargraph will
indicate the remaining percentage of the battery charge.
