Mounting the camera and monitor
7.1
Tools required
For installation and assembly you will need the following tools:
Measuring ruler (1 4, page 3)
Centre punch (1 5, page 3)
Hammer (1 6, page 3)
Drill bit set (1 7, page 3)
Drill (1 8, page 3)
Screwdriver (1 9, page 3)
To make and test the electrical connection, the following tools are required:
Diode test lamp (1 1, page 3) or voltmeter (1 2, page 3)
Insulating tape (1 10, page 3)
Heat shrinking sleeve
Hot air blower (1 11, page 3)
Crimping tool (1 12, page 3)
Soldering iron (optional) (1 13, page 3)
Solder (optional) (1 14, page 3)
Cable bushing sleeves (optional)
Depending on the individual installation requirements you may require bolts, nuts,
washers, self-tapping screws and cable binders other than those including in the scope
of delivery for attaching the camera and monitor.
7.2
Mounting the camera
If installing the camera alters the vehicle height or length specified in the
vehicle documents, your vehicle must be re-inspected by the appropriate
authority (MOT). This authority must note any such changes your vehicle
documents.
Warning!
Select a location for the external camera or attach it securely so that it cannot
fall off and injure bystanders under any circumstances (e. g. by branches
brushing the roof of the vehicle).
As the external camera must be fixed at a height of at least 2 m to provide a
suitable view, ensure that you have a firm place from which to work when
installing the camera.
Observe the following installation instructions:

To provide a suitable viewing angle, the camera must be attached at a height of at
least 2 m.
