• Adjust the alignment of the
bend and the mask according
to the position the baby or in-
fant is in.
Make sure that the nebuliser is
upright.
• Gently press the mask against
the face so that it fits snugly
over the mouth and nose.
Sick babies often struggle when the mask is pressed
against their face, and twist their head back and forth. To
ensure effective inhalation, hold the mask firmly in your
hand and rest your little finger against the child's cheek. This
will enable you to follow the movements of the child's head
with the mask more easily.
• The child should breathe in as slowly and deeply as pos-
sible through the mask and out again calmly.
• Carry out the inhalation treatment until the noise in the
nebuliser changes.
Some residual fluid will remain in the nebuliser after the end
of the treatment.

3.4 Ending the treatment

To end the treatment, proceed as follows:
• Switch the compressor off.
• Place the nebuliser back in the holder on the compressor.
• Disconnect the power plug from the mains socket.
Complete disconnection from the mains is only certain when
the power plug has been unplugged from the socket.
