5- NORMATIVE REFERENCES

The IMER JOINT CUTTER has been designed and manufactured ap-
plying the following standards: UNI EN 12100; UNI EN 13862.

6- FORESEEN USE OF THE MACHINE

Use is foreseen in construction sites in normal temperature (0° - 40°C)
and humidity (90% max. at 20°) conditions. The natural or artifi cial ligh-
ting foreseen must not be below 500 LUX in the cutting area.
The JOINT CUTTER has been designed for cutting only asphalt and
concrete. Do not use it to cut metal materials, wood or anything else not
specifi ed herein.
The maximum cutting capacity with 450 mm disk diameter is 165 mm.
Only use cutting disks suitable for the type of material to be cut and
follow the indications given on the disk.
Use disks clearly stating the maximum rpm for use, the type of material
that can be worked and the type of cutting (in our case wet cutting).
IMER INTERNATIONAL discs provide the necessary data for correct
use.
The machine must not be used in environments with danger of
explosion or fi re, in restricted spaces or with poor ventilation and
in underground works.
IMER INTERNATIONAL DECLINES ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY IMPRO-
PER USE OF THE MACHINE.

7- MACHINE DESCRIPTION

The TERRA 450 asphalt cutter features a sheet iron structure (frame),
which offers excellent resistance combined with considerable lightness.
In addition the engine support is assembled on the frame; it's thickness
ensures maximum stiffness and effective damping of vibrations also re-
duced by the use of special rubber vibration dampers. The pivot engine
mounts, on which turns the disc shaft, are assembled on the engine
support. The various protective guards for the moving parts are fi xed
to the frame.
The inclination of the machine and therefore the cutting depth, is varia-

ble through a trapezoidal screw operated by a hand-wheel located on
the control panel.
The engine support is 'fi xed to the frame with a special anti-vibration
system.
Other vibration dampers are placed between the frame and the machine
guide arms. The gripping points, fi tted with vibration-damping knobs, are
positioned in such a way as to minimise operator effort in pushing the
machine and they are adjustable.
On the frame there is the housing for the auxiliary cutting cooling water
tank, which is easily removable. On the disk guard there is the connec-
tion for sending water to the disk, complete with tap and fitting for direct
connection to the tank or the water mains. On the machine there is the
parking brake, which is operated by turning the handwheel anticlockwi-

forces on the wheel.
To handle the machine easily, it must be raised to the maximum height
by turning the handwheel until it stops. In this case, the brake will 'posi-
tion as in Fig.1 Ref.3
For the cooling of the disc, alternatively at reservoir of the machine,
can use an auxiliary tube that comes from another tank or mains water
supply directly. See Fig.1.1
