1. Safety Instructions
For skilled electricians and instructed
personnel in accordance with national
regulation, including the relevant standard
and, where applicable, in acc.with
IEC 60079-17 on electrical apparatus for ex-
plosive atmospheres.
The light fittings must not be operated in
Zones 0 and 20!
The technical data indicated on the luminaires
are to be observed!
Changes of the design and modifications to
the light fittings are not permitted!
The light fittings shall be operated as
intended and only in undamaged and perfect
conditions!
Only genuine Cooper Crouse-Hinds, S.A. spa-
re parts may be used for replacement!
Repairs that affect the explosion protection,
may only be carried out by
Cooper Crouse-Hinds, S.A. or a qualified
"electrician" and will subsequenctly have to
be checked by an "expert"!
Do not open if energized!
Do not keep these operating instructions
inside the light fitting during opertion.

2. Conformity with standards
This explosion protected light fittings meets the
requeriment of IEC/EN 60079-1, IEC/EN 61241
and EN60598.
It also complies with the EC Directives
for "Apparatus and protective systems for use in
explosive atmospheres" (94/9/EC) and
"Electromagnetic compatibility" (2004/108/EC).
It has been designed, manufactured and tested in
accordance to the state of the art and according
to EN29001 (ISO9001).
The light fittings are suitables for use in explosive
atmospheres,
Zone 1 and 2 acc. to IEC 60079-10-1 and
Zones 21 and 22 acc. IEC 61241-10-2.

4. Installation
The respective national regulations as well
as the general rules of engineering which apply
to the installation and operation of explosion
protected apparatus will have to be observed.
Transport and storage of the light fitting is
permitted in original packaging only!
Pay attention when mounting or repairing the
light fitting, don´t damage the fire-finish of the
glass adquired during moulding (abrasions,
sanding, etc.) that can weaking their
mechanical functions!
Number maximum of light fittings with electronic
ballasts: See table 2
The light fittings are suitable for a wall and for a
ceiling installation.
The light fittings have to be only mounted
horizontally, or with the cable entry from below
for the wall installation.
4.1 Opening and closing the
luminaires
The opening of light fitting always shall be
without voltage!
For opening and closing the light fitting see
secuency fig 3.
The light fitting is well closed when the cover
is completly threaded on the luminaire
enclosure!

See wiring diagram.
-Observe the isolation inside the light fittings acc. to
( EN 60598-1, EN 60079-0 / 6.1 remark 3)
-Flexible cables shall be used with trumpet-
shaped cable glands or other suitable entries with
additional pull-relief. (min. protection IP66)
If multi- or fine-wire conneting cables are used,
the wire ends will have to be handled in acc. with
the applicable national and international rules.
(e.g. use of sleeves for strands).
In order to maintain the explosion category, the
conductors will have to be connected with
special care.
The insulation shall reach up to terminal.
The conductor itself must not be damaged.

6. Function
6.1 Emergency operation
The duration of the emergency operation is
factory side fixed and can not be adjusted.
The emergency operation will automatically
started when main voltage falls under 75 % for
more than 100 ms or the charging line L L L L L is
switched off (see wiring diagram).
6.1.1
Function test emergency
light
Switch off the mains supply from light fitting.
The emergency lamp will operate.
A function test should not exceed the following
test periods:
Battery set for 1,5 h emergency light: 60 min.
Battery set for 3,0 h emergency light: 120 min.
Should the emergency lamp be extinguished
within the test period though the battery is fully
charged, the latter will have to be replaced by a
new battery set.
6.2
Charging
At temperatures below -5°C and above +35°C the
battery will not be fully charged for
electrochemical reasons.
Note: New batteries will reach their total
useful capacity only after 3 charging/
discharging cycles.
