APPLICATIONS:
The PacMaster S is used for the manufacture of
packaging pads made from corrugated board or
other carton materials.
Only corrugated cartons and similar
materials may be fed into the machine
for processing into packaging pads!
The use of other materials may result in
bodily injury (e.g. due to splintering of hard
materials etc.), as well as damage to the
machine (e.g. destruction of the cutting
system etc.).
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS:
Note: Be certain that three phase current is
available at the point of installation (see TECH-
NICAL DATA for information concerning required
pre-fusing of the electrical outlet).
- Unpack machine and install it in accordance with
the label on the packing film.
- Plug in the machine.
CONTROL PANEL:
1 = Mains Switch (emergency stop) (fig. 1)
The machine is turned on and off with this
switch (switch positions „I" and „0").
In addition, this switch is used to disconnect
from the mains supply in switch position "0"
in the event of danger.
2 = Selector Switch (fig. 1)
a) „Cutting System Forward" („I")
When the selector switch is turned to the "I"
position, the cutting system runs forwards
and materials can be fed into the machine.
The switch remains in this position.
b) „Stop Cutting System" („0")
When the selector switch is turned to the
"0" position, the machine is switched off
and the cutting system is brought to a
standstill.
c) „Cutting System Reverse" („R")
When the selector switch is turned to the
"R" position, the cutting system is run in
reverse.
Note: The cutting system and the auxiliary
cutters only run in reverse as long as the
switch is manually held in the „R" positi-
on.

INITIAL START UP
The machine may only be used for its
intended purpose.
The mains connection at the machine
must be freely accessible!
Only operate the machine in enclosed
rooms at temperatures between 10°C
and 25°C!
The machine is approved for operation
at an altitude of up to 1000 m above
sea level and relative humidity of up
to 50% with an outside temperature
of 40° C.
POWER SUPPLY CONNECTION:
a) It must be ensured that the loop impedance at
the mains connection point is sufficiently low to
safely activate the upstream overcurrent protec-
tor according to its triggering characteristics in
the pre-set cut-off time.
b) The conductor cross-section of the power
supply line should be of a magnitude so as
to cause a 15% voltage drop in the case of a
machine blockage (inhibit current = 6 x nominal
current).
OPERATION
If the machine is to be operated
without a directly connected vacuum
cleaner
ACCESSORIES"), the user must wear
a dust mask!
When starting up without a vacuum
cleaner, the dust produced in the
machine when processing the cartons is
led out through a separate opening (3)
(fig. 2) on the rear wall of the housing to
the outside into the working environment
of the operator.
OPERATION:
Proceed as follows to start the machine:
1. Turn the mains switch (1) (fig. 1) to the „I"
position.
2. Turn the selector switch (2) (fig. 1) to the „I"
position. The cutting system and the auxiliary
cutters are activated.
Note: If the machine functions properly, the
selector switch remains in the „I" position. Refer
to „MALFUNCTIONS" if the selector switch
jumps back to the „0" position.
Due to danger of injury when later
handling
existing metal clips and staples must
be removed by means of a suitable
staple remover before cutting into
packaging pads!

CHECKING THE RUNNING DIRECTION:
1. Move the mains switch (1) (fig. 1) to position „I".
2. Place selector switch (2) (fig. 1) in position „I".
The cutting system starts running.
3. Check that the cutting system is running in the
correct direction according to the stipulated
input direction of the carton (see direction arrow
fig. 4) and correct the phase sequence at the
power plug if necessary.
Correcting the phase sequence at
the power plug may only be carried
out by a qualified electrician!
Now that everything has been correctly assembled
and connected, you can proceed to operating
the machine.
OPERATION
CUTTING CORRUGATED STRIPS
INTO PACKAGING PADS:
- Feed the pre-cut strips to the special cutting
system for the production of packaging pads
through the inlet guide (fig. 4).
- The board is cut into a packaging pad of up
to approx. 425 mm in width depending on the
working width of the cutting system. Overlong
stripsareautomaticallycutoff.Thetapemeasure
(4) attached to the inlet guide serves as a guide
for the required width of the packaging pads
(fig. 3).
- Remove the finished packaging pads after
processing is complete fig. 5).
Never feed more than the maximum
allowable quantity of material into the
machine (see „TECHNICAL DATA").
If a materials jam should nevertheless oc-
cur, refer to „MATERIALJAM IN THE INLET
CHUTE" under „MALFUNCTIONS".
